A returning customer, a leading global independent service provider to the oil and gas industry, required a Bosch Rexroth ATEX-rated cetop solenoid valve.

Bocsh Rexroth ATEX-Rated Solenoid Valve

“ATEX” comes from the French term “atmosphere explosibles”. Explosive atmospheres can be caused by flammable gases, mists or vapours or by combustible dusts. If there is enough of any one of these substances, mixed with air, then all it needs is a source of ignition to cause an explosion.

Preventing releases of dangerous substances which can form in a hazardous area, and preventing sources of ignition are two widely used ways of reducing the risk. Using the correct equipment obviously plays a really big part too.

The good news is that identifying and sourcing non-standard, specialist hydraulic products such as  “Intrinsically Safe” or “ATEX” certified hydraulic equipment is all in a day’s work to the team here. Hop over to our main website if you would like more information on the ATEX directive and regulations, area classifications and zones.

Meanwhile, back to the Bosch Rexroth ATEX-rated cetop solenoid valve in question…

Some of the features of the ATEX-rated solenoid valve include a:

  • Maximum operating pressure of 350 bar
  • Maximum flow of 1100L/min
  • Range of application in accordance with the explosion protection directive RL 94/9/EC II3G; II3D
  • Solenoid EEx nA II T140 °C as per DIN EN50021 and IP 65 T140 °C as per DIN EN 50281
