Hydraulic Pump / Hydraulic Pumps

Hydraulics Online is a leading hydraulic pump supplier and has widespread, competitive access to both leading and niche hydraulic pump manufacturers from around the world.

Whether it's an: Eaton Vickers, Sauer Danfoss, Denison, Casappa, Bosch Rexroth, Char-Lynn, Dowty, Racine or a Poclain hydraulic pump that you're after or even an unrecognisable or obsolete hydraulic pump... we're confident we can find the one you're looking for.

We are also able to offer a repair and refurbishment service on most brands of hydraulic pump.

There are a wide range of hydraulic pump types including:
  • gear pumps; simple and econimical and create pressure through the meshing of the gear teeth, which forces fluid around the gears to pressurize the outlet side. Some hydraulic gear pumps can be quite noisy, compared to other types, but modern gear pumps are highly reliable and much quieter than older models.
  • rotary vane pumps: have higher efficiencies than gear pumps, but are also used for mid pressures up to 180 bars in general.
  • screw pumps, also known as a fixed displacement pump, are used for high flows and relatively low pressure (max 100 bar). The advantage of the screw pumps is the low sound level, but the efficiency is not that high.
  • bent axis pumps. These have the best efficiency of all hydraulic pumps. In general the largest displacements are approximately one litre per revolution, although a two-litre swept volume hydraulic pump can be built. Variable-displacement pumps are often used, where the oil flow can be adjusted carefully and can operate with a working pressure of up to 350–420 bars in continuous work.
  • axial piston pumps. These hydraulic pumps have the advantage of being more compact in design and are easier and more economical to manufacture; the disadvantage is that they are more sensitive to oil contamination
  • radial piston pumps (fixed displacement) are used especially for high pressure and relatively small flows. Pressures of up to 650 bar are normal. In fact variable displacement is not possible, but sometimes the hydraulic pump is designed in such a way that the plungers can be switched off one by one, so that a sort of variable displacement pump is obtained.
